Hair-type labels are a starting point, not a match. Two women with "4C" hair can have visibly different coils. That is why every Adéorí texture is specified by coil size in millimetres and curl pattern, S or Z, and why each product page carries that spec block. The method professional stylists use: match the hair to the section of your own hair it will sit against, styled the way you actually wear it, not to your hair-type label. If you wear a leave-out, that is the hair to match. The 60-second quiz walks you through it; the Texture Match Guide shows every texture in order, loosest to tightest.

Most heads carry more than one pattern; tighter at the nape, looser at the crown is common. Match the section that will sit next to the extension, usually your leave-out or hairline. If it has a coil, yes, and that is the texture working, not a fault. All lengths are measured on a straightened strand, the industry standard. Worn in pattern: Ìtura sits about 1–2 inches shorter than measured, Ìlẹ̀kẹ̀ and Wúrà about 2–3, Ọ̀yàyà and Ayaba about 3–4, and Ìyẹ́ and Adé about 4–5, so a 20-inch Adé weft sits nearer shoulder length in full coil. Dídán and Sányán wear close to their measured length. If visible length is the goal, order a length up.

One more thing to expect: the pattern arrives compressed from packaging. It opens fully after your first co-wash and air-dry; that first wash is when the hair starts looking like the texture you chose.

Textures that sit next to each other on the spectrum, closest in coil size, blend best; the further apart two textures sit, the more visible the difference will be. It depends on the texture, because tighter patterns give more fullness per weft:

• Adé, Ìyẹ́, Ayaba, Ọ̀yàyà (the tightest coils): 2 wefts for shoulder length, 3 for longer lengths or maximum fullness.
• Wúrà, Ìlẹ̀kẹ̀ (mid-spectrum curls): 2–3 wefts for most installs, 3 for maximum volume.
• Ìtura, Dídán, Sányán (loose, blowout and straight; these lie flatter): 3 wefts for most installs, 3–4 for maximum fullness.

A closure or frontal does not change how many wefts you need; weft count comes down to length and the fullness you want. When in doubt, go one weft up; leftover hair keeps for your next install.

Every texture comes in 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24 inches; available lengths for closures and frontals are listed on their product pages. Each weft is approximately 100g, consistent across textures and lengths: two wefts of the same texture and length will always match. Many suppliers quietly short-weight their packs; the packaging looks identical, but the install comes out thinner. We don't pad, fill, or short-weight.

A closure (ours are 5x5) covers the crown section: your install finishes with a natural-looking parting in one area, and it is the simpler, more affordable piece. A frontal (ours are 13x6) runs ear to ear across your entire hairline: you can part anywhere, pull the hair back, style away from the face. The trade: a frontal costs more and asks more of installation and upkeep. If you keep one parting and want easy, take the closure. If you change your parting or wear updos, the frontal earns its price. Both come in every texture, so the lace piece matches the wefts it is worn with.

HD lace is a thinner, finer lace than standard Swiss lace. It sits closer to the scalp, disappears against more skin tones with little or no tinting, and needs far less work at install to look like it isn't there. The trade-off is delicacy: thinner lace asks for gentler handling. Every Adéorí closure and frontal is HD lace. For a brand built on the extension being undetectable against your own hair, an obvious lace edge would defeat the point.

Southeast Asia, and we say that knowing how casually this industry invents origin stories. Our founder travels there herself and walks the factories where our wefts are sewn: she watches the hair arrive in its natural state, watches it sorted, and chooses what earns the Adéorí name. Not a broker's promise. Her own eyes.

The hair is bought from women who choose to sell it, at an agreed price, cut and bundled in one direction so the cuticle stays exactly as it grew. Every pattern is then set with steam from that raw hair, never with chemicals. The longer version is in Our Story.

Human hair lives or dies by the cuticle: the shingle-like outer layer of every strand. Cuticle-aligned means each strand's cuticles are intact and facing the same direction, root to tip. Misaligned cuticles, which is what you get in most mass-market hair, catch on each other, tangle, and mat over time. Cuticle-aligned hair moves like real hair and lasts through repeated washing and styling.

All Adéorí hair is 100% human and cuticle-aligned. It has not been stripped, coated, or treated with silicone to feel soft out of the bag. The alignment is not rebuilt in a factory either: the hair arrives raw, cut and bundled in one direction, and stays the way it grew.

Every weft starts as raw hair from Southeast Asia. It is machine-sewn and reinforced, which is what keeps shedding at the track to a minimum through repeated installs. The coil patterns are steam-set: shaped with steam, not chemicals, so the pattern is set deep into the strand. Washing brings the pattern back; that reversion is the point. What undoes it is repeated high-heat flat-ironing, which will loosen any steam-set coil permanently over time. Treat heat as an occasional tool and the pattern holds for the life of the hair.

Yes, it is human hair. Use a heat protectant every time; that part is non-negotiable. On the coiled textures, know what heat costs before you spend it: repeated flat-ironing loosens a steam-set coil permanently, and the tighter the coil, the more it has to lose. If you want to live in straight styles, Sányán and Dídán exist so you never have to iron a coil flat.

Human hair takes colour. Going darker is low-risk. Lifting to very light shades stresses the cuticle on any hair, so strand test first and treat a major lift as a professional job. Two things to weigh before you colour: processing can loosen a coil pattern, and all sales are final, so colour work is at your own risk. Wash and condition before any colour so you're working with the hair in its cleanest state.

Minimal shedding from any wefted hair is normal; our reinforced, machine-sewn tracks are built to keep it minimal. Matting risk is genuinely higher for tight coils, ours and yours alike: the spiral shape slows natural oils travelling down the strand, so tight-texture hair runs drier and wants moisture more often. That is the physics, not a defect. What keeps a tight-coil weft healthy: regular conditioning, detangling from the ends with fingers or a wide-tooth comb, satin or silk at night, and not letting product build up at the weft.

Lukewarm water, sulphate-free shampoo, downward strokes in the hair's direction. Rinse thoroughly; buildup is why extensions go stiff and dull. Condition every wash, and on the coiled textures scrunch the conditioner through and finish cool to set the pattern. Installed, every 1–2 weeks is the rhythm, weekly if you're active or use a lot of product. Extensions don't produce oils the way your scalp does, so every wash needs the conditioning step or the hair pays for it in dryness.

You can, but chlorine and salt water strip moisture from any hair, and tight coils feel it most. If you swim: saturate the hair with clean water first, wear it braided or bunned, rinse immediately after, and deep condition. If you swim often, count that into the hair's real lifespan.

Wash and dry completely first; hair stored damp moulds. Then loosely braid or twist the coiled textures to hold the pattern, store flat in the original packaging or rolled in a silk or satin bag, away from sunlight and heat. Don't fold tightly at the weft; creasing weakens the track. Stored well, the hair comes out of the bag ready for its next install after one wash.

Lifespan is decided by care, not the calendar: heat frequency, wash-and-condition discipline, and storage. Hair that is conditioned regularly, heat-styled sparingly, and stored properly lasts through multiple installs. Hair flat-ironed daily does not. We'd rather tell you what extends it than promise a number the way you wear it might not deliver.

Every texture is made to order. We steam-set each weft in a small batch after you order rather than pulling it off a shelf, so weft orders are processed within 5–7 business days. Custom wigs are hand-built over 10–15 business days, then processed for a further 5–7 business days before shipping. You'll receive tracking by email the moment your order ships, and you can follow your delivery from there. Delivery time depends on your destination and carrier. International orders may also owe customs duties or import taxes, charged by your country's customs authority, and those are the buyer's responsibility; if your country runs high import duties, check its thresholds before ordering.

All sales are final. Hair is a hygiene product, and once it leaves us we cannot restock it, so we don't offer returns or exchanges, and we say that plainly rather than burying it in fine print. The one exception is ours to own: fulfilment errors.
