Caring for Your Adéorí Virgin Hair
Virgin hair behaves just like your natural hair, it responds to moisture, heat, and products. Treat it well and your extensions will last for years.
Washing
Wash your extensions every 1–2 weeks, or when you notice product buildup. Always detangle gently before wetting the hair.
- Use a sulphate-free shampoo to preserve moisture and shine.
- Wash in a downward motion, never scrub in circles, which causes tangling.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Avoid very hot water, which strips moisture.
- Follow with a hydrating conditioner from mid-shaft to ends. Leave for 3–5 minutes before rinsing.
Deep Conditioning
Deep condition once a month to keep the hair soft, manageable, and tangle-free. Apply a generous amount of deep conditioner, cover with a plastic cap, and leave for 20–30 minutes with gentle heat if possible. Rinse thoroughly.
Detangling
- Always detangle when the hair is damp and conditioned, never dry.
- Start from the ends and work your way up to the roots.
- Use a wide-tooth comb or a paddle brush, never a fine-tooth comb on wet hair.
- Be extra gentle with curly and coily textures, which are more prone to tangling.
Drying
- Gently squeeze (do not wring) excess water from the hair with a microfibre towel.
- Air drying is best whenever possible.
- If using a blow dryer, use the cool or low heat setting with a diffuser attachment.
Heat Styling
Adéorí virgin hair can be straightened, curled, and styled just like natural hair. Always use a heat protectant before applying any heat.
- Keep flat irons and curling wands below 230°C / 450°F.
- Avoid passing a hot tool over the same section more than twice.
- For curly and coily textures, minimise heat to preserve the natural curl pattern.
Overnight Care
- Braid or loosely twist the hair before bed to prevent matting.
- Sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase, or wrap your hair in a satin bonnet or scarf.
- Apply a small amount of lightweight oil (argan, jojoba, or coconut) to the ends before sleeping.
Storage
- When not in use, store your extensions in the original bag or a silk/satin pouch.
- Keep away from direct sunlight and excess humidity.
- Ensure the hair is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
Colouring
Because our hair is 100% virgin and unprocessed, it can be coloured by a professional. We always recommend a strand test first. Note that chemically treating the hair will affect its longevity.
Products to Avoid
- Sulphate or alcohol-based shampoos
- Heavy silicone-based products (cause buildup)
- Petroleum or mineral oil products (coat the hair shaft and block moisture)
