The Story
of Adéorí

First,
the name.

Adéorí is Yoruba. It means crown.

In a Yoruba palace, the crown is not decoration. The adé is the seat of consequence, the thing the beadwork, the gold, and the woven silk all exist to serve. To name a hair brand for the crown is to say, plainly, where hair ranks.

Your hair is not an accessory to the way you look. It is the crown the rest of it answers to.

2013. The industry
had a problem.

The hair extension industry was built for one head of hair: straight, fine, European. "Curly" meant slightly wavy. "Textured" meant a bad perm.

Women with 4C, 4B, 3C hair were told to make it work. Extensions slipped. Wefts sat thick on dense braids. Curl patterns never matched, and nobody making the hair understood shrinkage or porosity.

So we started where the industry had quietly given up: machine wefts built for 4C and 4B hair. Thin enough to lie flat on dense braids. Strong enough not to slip. Tested on real Black women, not mannequins.

We don't buy stories.
We go and look.

In this industry, origin is a flavour. Hair gets relabelled to whatever country sells best, and the words that were meant to protect buyers have been stretched past meaning. Most women have already paid for "raw" hair that wasn't.

Ours is sourced from Southeast Asia, and we can say that plainly for one reason: our founder goes there herself. She walks the factory floors where our wefts are sewn, watches the hair arrive in its natural state, and chooses what earns the Adéorí name. Not a broker's promise. Her own eyes.

The hair is bought from women who choose to sell it, at an agreed price, cut and bundled in one direction so the cuticle stays exactly as it grew. That is what raw means when the word is used honestly: nothing stripped, nothing coated, a strand that keeps its history.

Every pattern in the range is then set with steam, from that raw hair, never with chemicals. Steam persuades a strand into a coil; chemicals break it into one. It is the slower, more expensive way to make textured hair. It is also the only way the pattern survives repeated washing.

Named for
the palace.

Every texture in the range is named in Yoruba, from the world of the palace: its regalia, and the virtues carried inside it. A crown does not stand alone.

Adé, the crown itself, is the tightest coil we make. Ìyẹ́ is the peacock plume set into a crown. Wúrà is gold. Ìlẹ̀kẹ̀ is the royal beadwork. Sányán is the woven silk praised as the father of cloths. Ayaba is the queen who wears it all.

The rest are the virtues. Ọ̀yàyà is cheerfulness, the springiest curl in the range. Dídán is gleam, the polished blowout. Ìtura is ease, the softest, loosest curl we make.

No name here is decoration. Each was chosen for how its texture behaves, and each is explained on its own page.
