Ìyẹ́ — Afro Curly, 4B–4C

Ìyẹ́ is the feather, the plume. In Yoruba royal dress it is the ìyẹ́ ọ̀kín, the peacock plume set into a crown, the ornament that turns a headpiece into regalia. Adéorí carries the peacock as its own mark, so this name puts the plume on the crown without spending the emblem itself. It is one of our two heroes.

We gave it to this texture because it does the same delicate work: definition set into density. On 4C-dense hair, a 2mm S-pattern reads as a defined afro-curl rather than a straight coil, pattern you can actually see on hair with the fullness to carry it. It is matched to 4B–4C hair that wants visible curl definition without giving up its density. At 2mm the shrinkage is real: worn in pattern the hair sits about 4 to 5 inches shorter than measured, so order up a length if visible length is the goal. Fullness per set is high, so most installs use 2 sets, 3 for length or maximum volume.
