Who Yaki Is For

Yaki is designed specifically for women transitioning from relaxed hair or those who wear their 4A–4C natural hair in a pressed or texlaxed state. The texture mimics the look and feel of African-American hair that has been thermally straightened: slightly coarse, with body and density, but straight enough to layer and fall naturally. If you've ever tried a silky straight extension over transitioning or relaxed hair and noticed the contrast in texture and weight, Yaki solves that problem. It sits between Natural Straight and Kinky Straight on the texture scale, making it the most versatile blend option for women in the 3C–4B range.

How Yaki Behaves

Yaki has a deliberately coarse, matte finish that looks like pressed natural hair rather than a high-shine silk. The strand has resistance: it holds a style, doesn't collapse in humidity the way silkier textures do, and layers with density rather than lying flat. In moisture, Yaki will absorb slightly and swell, which means it responds well in the same environments where 4A–4C natural hair retains its press, dry climates, air-conditioned spaces. In humid weather, expect some reversion, just as you would from pressed natural hair. The texture is heat-styleable and colour-safe to 613.

How to Care for Yaki Extensions

Wash every 7–10 days with a moisturising, sulfate-free shampoo and a rich conditioner. Because the texture is intentionally coarser, it can feel dry faster than smoother textures, regular deep conditioning (every 2 weeks) is important. Apply a lightweight oil or serum after washing to seal the cuticle and add a natural sheen. Avoid heavy silicone serums that can make Yaki look artificially glossy and lose its natural pressed-hair appearance. When heat styling, keep your tool below 380°F. Store detangled, folded loosely, in a silk or satin bag.

How Many Bundles to Order

Yaki has minimal shrinkage and installs close to its measured length. At 16"–18": 2 bundles. At 20"–22": 2–3 bundles. At 24"+: 3 bundles. With an HD Lace Closure or HD Lace Frontal, reduce by one bundle. Yaki works with sew-in, tape-in, and k-tip methods. Its intentional coarseness means it sits with more substance than Natural Straight and holds styles longer at the perimeter. For a partial sew-in blending with 3C–4B natural hair, use light-hold edge control to smooth the hairline. All Adéorí bundles are 100 grams each and sold individually.
